Opportunity Overview

We currently have an opportunity available for a Quality Engineer with an electrical / electronic background. In this position you’ll work with the engineering design teams and remote production teams, as well as other departments and vendors to resolve quality problems; you’ll also propose and implement product and process quality improvement programs, perform analysis on key quality indicators using industry-accepted techniques, and make recommendations based on test and analysis findings. This position will be located at our corporate headquarters at Highways 169 and 55 in Plymouth, Minnesota.


What You Will Be Doing

  • Quality-based customer support for the Engineering Programs division

  • Proactively determine ways to improve our first pass yield

  • Study scrap rates, and determine methods of reduction

  • Manage improvement projects related to issues found at customer sites and in product returns

  • Manage the corrective action program as well as the internal audit program with an eye on continual improvement of the processes

  • Perform routine trend analysis on key quality indicators using industry-accepted statistical techniques

  • Perform failure analysis and work with engineering design teams, other departments, and vendors to resolve quality problems

  • Occasional travel between Minneapolis and South Dakota, and to various local vendor sites; possible travel to international production locations in Mexico and China as well as suppliers in various countries; our estimate of total travel is approximately 5%

  • Bachelors in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering with strong electrical background


  • 3+ years of applicable experience in the electronics industry

  • 1+ year of statistical analysis experience in a quality department for a manufacturer of electrical or mechanical products

  • Computer literacy in MS Office, databases, and statistical computer programs
