Peer-to-Peer Mentor Program Manager

Full Time (40 Hours per Week - Exempt)

The Arc Minnesota Peer-to-Peer Mentor Program Manager will lead the co-creation and co-facilitation of The Arc Minnesota Peer-to-Peer Mentor Program alongside a small but diverse group of people with lived experience, trained in the principles of Employment First, disability justice, plain language, person-centered planning, and employment navigation.

The Manager will work with a multi-agency partnership to implement the Minnesota Transformation Initiative Technical Assistance Center (MTI) contract with the Department of Human Services. This contract aims to increase opportunities for people with disabilities to earn competitive wages and benefits, and shift provider business models away from subminimum wages.

The Manager will ensure that all work is framed in alignment with The Arc Minnesota’s core values of Human and Civil Rights, Self-Advocacy and Self-Direction, Equity and Belonging, and Disability and Racial Justice.

Compensation & Benefits:

· Generous time off policies, remote work options, and flexible schedules

· $48,000 annually

· The Arc pays approximately 75-85% of medical premiums, depending on network and family options

· Dental insurance starting at $2.02 for single coverage and $16.93 for family coverage

Major Responsibilities:

· Support Program Development and Quality Improvement through coordination with the Grants and Initiatives Director in developing a work plan that meets contract deliverables and reflects The Arc Minnesota’s values.

· Recruit, train, and onboard persons with lived experience, including persons from diverse cultural, ethnic, and linguistic backgrounds, to co-create and co-facilitate the program.

· Collaborate with The Arc Minnesota Marketing and Self-Advocacy Teams to develop and disseminate materials/information about the program. Develop evaluation measures based on a Results Based Accountability model.

· Support Programs and Services through development and implementing accessible mentoring strategies and curriculum to support peer-to-peer mentoring with self-advocates, as well as their

family members and trusted supporters, about rights to, opportunities for, benefits of, and life outcomes associated with competitive integrated employment.

· Promote the Peer-to-Peer Mentor Program to self-advocates and family members who are affiliated with participating agencies through various modalities, including marketing/communications materials, social media, in-person, and virtual events, etc.

· Develop and implement an annual work plan. Monitor the program budget and complete necessary finance functions such as approving, submitting, and tracking expense and stipend requests for peer mentors. Collaborate with contract partners on the development of annual report.

· Prepare written communication briefs and facilitate seminars for people with disabilities, family members, and trusted supporters who are interested in or exploring the transition to competitive integrated employment.

Qualifications:

· BA/BS in human services or related field preferred

· 3 -5 years human services experience preferred

· Experience working with people who have disabilities in inclusive settings strongly preferred

· Experience working with service providers, family members, and trusted supporters helpful

· Strong listening, organizational and problem-solving skills

· Ability to work with and have respect for people of all backgrounds and ability levels

· High energy, commitment, and self-motivation

· Experience in coordinating multi-disciplinary collaborations

· Ability to lead a diverse group of people

· Knowledge of federal, state, and local systems regarding disability services helpful

· Succinct written and verbal communication and self-direction abilities

· Must be able to work a flexible schedule to meet the deliverables of the contract

· Must be able to travel within the state as needed

· Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

· Familiarity with electronic file sharing and project management platforms encouraged

· Maintain professional standards and ethics in all aspects of work as well as knowledge of laws, rules and regulations that affect people with disabilities living in the community
